If you’ve ever vowed you could create a better game, here’s your chance to step up and prove you’re not full of it.
National Game Design Month — NaGa DeMon for short — starts November 1st. Inspired by NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month, which I’ve participated in before), NaGa DeMon calls on its participants to spend November creating their own game, whether an RPG, board game, or even a computer game. If you finish your game, you “win.”
Visit the NaGa DeMon web site, and seriously consider participating, even if you’ve never tried to create a game before. (You might also want to check out a couple of cool subreddits, like r/rpg, r/worldbuilding, and of course, r/gamerjargon.)
I’ve already been working on a board game for the better part of a year, and just started serious playtesting on an RPG — but I plan to work extra hard on those projects (especially the RPG) in November. Join in! You never know what you might accomplish.
